Vision

  • To provide a long term measurement data of the short-lived climate pollutants for development of robust climate predicting tool
  • To host multidisciplinary national and international research and educational projects in the area of air, health and climate relevant to Indo Gangetic Plains.
  • To host and coordinate short and long-term courses related to air pollution, health and climate.
  • To search and train rural research talents for developing scientific tempter and provide opportunities and exposure to the underserved communities through various programs such as science camps, conferences and workshops by partnering with Indian institutes.

Long-term research aspirations of IGP-CARE:

Indo Gangetic Plains -Rural region –largely remains unexplored from atmospheric and climate perspectives. Therefore,  new information, scientific discoveries, and insights are anticipated. This new research station (IGP-CARE)  can be a great platform for:

  • Reaching the unreachables – remote & unexplored pollution sources & processes
  • Data for validating the air quality and climate models
  • Formation and Transformation of Atmospheric Brown carbon from biomass burning
  • Studying O3 effects on agriculture/ecosystem
  • Rural atmospheric chemistry experiments
  • Singtudy Atmospheric Fog processes
  • Studying Ice nucleation potential
  • Studying health and Agriculture effects of biomass burning
  • Climate change research
  • Social science aspect of air pollution
  • Biodiversity Research
